BABY AMBULANCES - SAFE TRANSPORT FOR THE YOUNGEST

Where possible, premature babies should not be transported at all. However, many cannot be adequately cared for at the place of birth and have to be taken to a specialised clinic.

Our baby emergency ambulance system "Felix" guarantees a calm and largely vibration-free transport.

"FELIX" COMES TO PLACES WITH GREATEST DEMAND

Every year, around 640 premature babies are transported in Germany, most of them in regular ambulances without special suspension and often lengthways to the direction of travel. This is dangerous for the child due to the braking acceleration. Newborns are much safer travelling crossways to the direction of travel.

Our baby emergency ambulance system "Felix", which was specially developed for newborns, enables transverse transport and brings even the smallest patients safely to their destination.

Our aim is to improve emergency assistance so that people of all ages receive the help they need. This also applies to the very youngest. That is why we are bringing "Felix" to locations that have a level 1 perinatal centre and a particularly high transport rate.

The baby emergency ambulance is not yet anchored in the Emergency Medical Services Act and is therefore not financed by the health insurance companies. The costs for the baby ambulance are therefore borne by our foundation, with the support of regional fundraising campaigns and sponsors. We cover the petrol costs and part of the other running costs in the form of a service contract. The vehicle and the incubator are also insured by us.
